ABOUT OAKFOTO

Al Froberg hails from an undisclosed location in the mid-western United States. As a child he spent most of his time reading, drawing, and engaging in epic sword battles with the plant life in his back yard. In spite of the best efforts of his math and physics teachers, it became clear that art school was the only logical choice. After exploring many mediums, and how to launder those mediums out of his clothing, he eventually graduated from the University of Illinois with degrees in sculpture and glassblowing.

At the turn of the century Al found himself in Chicago learning everything he could about photography. In late 2000, what started as an innocent line of inquiry became his occupation, and soon after, a preoccupation with helping clients meet their needs for great images. Whether he's lighting the features of a product or a face, the goal of matching the ideal visual aesthetic to the subject remains his primary interest. Things that don't remain Al's primary interest include well organized sock drawers, junk mail and "go-fast" boats.
